Weather for the Salmon River and Lake Ontario Areas

Fishing in the region is heavily dependent on the weather. Mariners should always “keep an eye on the sky” and not rely too heavily on weather forecasts.

Official wind and wave reports for Lake Ontario may not accurately reflect the true conditions on the Lake. A call to a local bait shop or marina may be your best source for information about actual conditions.
Many forecasts are from Fulton, New York, south of Oswego, which is the nearest location for online reporting stations.
