Product summary 2005
2005 was a good year for us. With the addition of a few new products we managed one of the best fishing season in years.
First, I can't say enough about the ATOMMIK trolling flies. That one product alone accounted for about 75% of our fish. White Halo, Green Crinkle, LBB and a few other really did the trick. These flies are well made, durable and worth every penny. Their customer service is also great. Give them a try if you already haven't and you won't be disappointed. It was time to by some new rods this past season. I've always used Ugly Stiks and I realy didn't want to change. With all the talk of the 7ft short rods that were being custom made by local people, I decided to try the Ugly Stik 7 fters. I'm glad I did. They're easier to handle and to my surprise they actually do tire the fish quicker. Everyone else who was on the boat last year liked them as well.
Dreamweaver spoons continue to be hot. I keep adding new colors and they keep producing. The mags were hot for the deep summer Kings.
I finally figured out the ProTrol Echip flashers. I've had them for 2 yrs now and they just weren't getting it done for me. However, with some advice from a few fishermen I finally got them going. I custom taped a few of them and one was the one that took our LOC Derby King.
I also tried some Cajun Red fishing line last year. Although it was a larger diameter in comparison to other lines of the same lb test, it did work well. I didn't have any breakoffs and the fish didn't seem to mind it.
That's about all of the new things I tried last year. As usual, I'll be looking for some more new stuff this year. I post how it works at the end of next season.
