Report: Gave it another try today. Fished below the Rte. 2A bridge and up at the Compactor Pool from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Caught 20+ fallfish. No large fish observed. Drove up to Altmar and fished 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from the bridge down to the top of the Schoolhouse Pool. Only caught one 8" smallmouth bass. No large fish observed up here either. Water temp. was starting to cool a little. 64 degrees at 6 a.m.

Report: Fished lower Black most of the day did not see much activity. If you plan on hitting the river I'd hammer it on monday Labor Day after they realease the water 750 Cfs But due to dam repair they might not realease the water at all. Check Whittakers website for more info.

Report: Fished below route 2A bridge and Compactor Pool from 6:00am to 11:00am. No large fish observed. Caught 10 fallfish, 1 atlantic smolt, 1 smallmouth bass. Drove up to Altmar and fished 2 more hours from the bridge down to Schoolhouse Pool. No large fish observed here either. Caught 1 rainbow smolt and 1 smallmouth bass. Water temp. 73 degrees.

Report: Fished the Upper Fly Area; below Altmar bridge; and below 2A bridge from 6:00am to 1:30pm on wednesday. Caught 8 smallmouth bass (8-12 inches); 5 fallfish; and 1 rainbow trout (9 inch no clips). Fish caught by swinging conehead wooly buggers on spey rod. Observed one fish approximately 8 pounds in the Upper Fly Paradise Pool. Water very warm - 73 degrees!

Report: There have been some reports of a "few" salmon and a "couple" of trout up at the hatchery already. I'll sit thight until the DSR opens on the 19th and they start thier reports. You'll still have to read between the lines (of BS ?) and remember "You should've been here last week"
