Report: On Aug 18th I Fished the Rt 81 hole then town pool then the estuary. I spent 3 hrs at 81 and then the reachable holes within walking distance up stream, catching nothing more then a smallmouth and 10 or 15 suckers. I was bouncing nymphs and stoneflies along the bottom and even tried wollybuggers and egg sucking leaches. The water was low 185cfs and dark. Air temp for the day was 78, no idea what the water temp was but I was wading in my bathing suit and an old pair of sneakers. Despite not catching any fish it was a valuable scouting trip for the upcoming season. Any suggestions of where the best place on the river is to locate fish at this time of year? I only have a week or so before school starts and my fishing time will be limited.
