Report: Made the trip to the SR yesterday and fished all day from 8 am until dark. Fished upstream from the Trestle and downstream from the Sportsman's pool. With the nice weather, I was surprised at how few folks were fishing. There was actually less competition than in the winter. I attribute that to the fact that people weren't encumbered by the snowpack and could move about more. The low water made things much more condusive for fly fishing but it didn't make much difference in my case. I went fishless and never got a bite. Used flies of all sort, colors & sizes to no avail. Kept going back to black stones as they were apparent everywhere I went but still no luck. There were some big & showy rises to the stones whenever they got near the surface of the river to deposit eggs. Another fisherman said there was alot more of that type of activity on Tue & Wed. Met one other fisherman who said he had 6 takes on a small brown nymph. Only other fish I saw all day was one caught by someone above me just before dark. I was too far away to see what it was. One fellow said he came over from the big O because it was so high that it was unfishable.
