Report: Wednesday:
Dec. is my personal favorite time of year. New years too.
Rain, rain and more rain. M-M good! Lots of run-off and freshies entering the lower end, moving up. Best thing is there will be no one around to enjoy this fest! (Which is normal for this time of year given our adult responsibilities. Lucky are those that can take it off)

(See Photo's - www.yankeeanlger.com - Fishing Reports, articles, etc...)

The above was what we enjoyed fishing through all day. Many positive things will happen due to this. Can you say fresh Steelhead in this river as well as other tribs? The reservoirs needed this badly and should be able to allow them to keep the flows at this rate longer than had been previously anticipated by some of us.
At 0'Dark thirty I tried to hand my guest's back there deposit. The wind was hollowing and the rain was falling heavily side ways. I told them I knew a location where most of that big pod of fish had probably moved too further up river and we would have an excellent chance of intercepting them again. We chose to give chase and try out luck, With in 4 cast's my first guest was tight. Next cast the same. During the first hour it was almost none stop with Chrome delight! (It resembled more like Salmon Season then steelhead season) Decided to stay in this location the rest of the day off the drift boat and continue to hammer them, which my guest's did. The end of the days tally was something ridicules like 22 Steelhead played with. Wow!! Care to join me?

(See Photo's)
We were so busy retying, working our water, etc.. we had next to no time for photo's. I worked my tail off today!
Congrats to you both! (All fish released)
Randy

Water Conditions: High and colored

Report: What better way to conclude one of the best Novembers I have had in years.
Not only was the fishing steady the entire month with late kings, lot's of browns and a decent number of steelhead, but we saw very comfortable temperatures and only 3 inches of the white stufff for the entire month! I am sure we will pay for that.

So to wrap up the month, Phil and Pete come up and spend the day on the Oswego with me. We started the day by having a nice steelhead swallow our float on the very fisrt cast. I had just dropped it in the water, to show the guys where I wanted them to throw and bang, right off the surface. Needlesss to say it came off. (No hooks on my bobbers).

The next hour found us hooking but not landing fish. I was starting to worry, as you never know how many shots you will get in a day. No need to worry today, as the bite just kept getting better as the day went on and the water came up. By the end of the day it was huge! 12,000 cfs, but the fishing was on fire.

Charteuse egg sacs and small white jigs were the hot bait, although we did take a few fish on black and gold & orange and gold rapalas. We kind of lost count but below are some pictures that tell the story.

To make things even better, I managed to harvest a nice fat doe, before dark that night. Venison for dinner today.

A Day to Remember

Pete with a nice rainbow to start the day!

Phil with a brown taken on a rapala!

Big Brown!

This Monster is going on the wall for Phil!

This is a big lake run brown just coming in to feed. Note the silver, summer lake colors!

Any size fish will put a smile on your face!

One of many browns released for another day!

A Big Rainbow!

What will December have in store for us? My fishing schedule begins to slow as the holidays approach and Shelley and I have another issue to put together. I also have some more hunting to do!

As I am typing, it is raining hard and the creeks are on the rise again. Look for excellent fishing conditions over the next few weeks as we finally have water! December is a great month to fish as the weather is still decent and the fishing is always good! And did I mention, We have water! What are you waiting for?

Report: My one guest and I decided to play off the drift boat again today, up river. We spent a lil more time in one location then we should have only because it had been red hot yesterday and today it only gave up one for us. The other 2 spots we fished all gave up Steelhead and the last hole of the day we left fish to call it a day. So, We were 100% on spots fished and my guest had his personal best day ever with 6-7 steelhead played with. Not bad for a river with no fish :) Below ae a few that were released for another (your) day. Congrats!!
